Ava Vidal (Av-a) (born 1976) is a British comedian currently living in London.[1] She became more widely known after taking part in E4's "Kings of Comedy". Her career in comedy began on the BBC's "Urban Sketch Show".[2] She has two children, having had her first aged 18. Vidal left her job as a prison guard after four years, and soon became known on the comedy circuit.
Vidal states on her MySpace page that she has done, "A couple of Top 100 shows where people like me who have achieved nothing get to comment on more successful people that have made a few mistakes".[1] She appeared in "28 Acts in 28 Minutes" and "The Comic Side of 7 Days" in 2005.[3] Vidal has also been involved in other BBC shows including The last laugh, The sack race, and The Crouches. She was a housemate in Kings of Comedy on E4, and Channel 4 made a documentary about her called "From the Top", a half-hour show explaining her journey in comedy so far, and how she became a comedienne. She has also appeared on Comedy Central's The World Stands Up and The Comedystore TV show's. She will also appear on the next series of Edinburgh and Beyond on the same channel. Vidal was in the line-up on "Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow" in Swansea, aired Saturday 27 June 2009.[4], BBC radio 4's News Quiz in February and October 2010 and BBC1's Mock the Week in June 2011
